Storygrounds is a name few people might be familiar with. And with fairly good reason to boot. The whole enterprise is a fairly recent one. It claims to be “the only platform where creators and communities collaborate on the biggest entertainment franchises of tomorrow” on its FAQ sheet, but that doesn’t tell us much. The best I can puzzle out is that it’s a webcomic hosting and publishing service similar to Webtoon. With Andrew Green (Harry Potter, MARVEL Avengers, Dead Space) and Michael Brozman (The Sims, Harry Potter, Rock Band) as the founders of this service.
And really, being so new and keeping itself weirdly vague and all, it’s no wonder why they’d want to advertise themselves with the best of its webcomics. It’s why Storygrounds is proud to hype up their newest sci-fi thriller webcomic What Lies Below The Lilies by Jeff Bakalar. This webcomic is available to read right now as of July 9, 2025. You can also find out more about the webcomic and sign up for a newsletter on its official website.
That’s not all, though. As you can tell by the title, Storygrounds also has an official trailer for What Lies Below The Lilies to hype up the webcomic. That, and a very creepy banner image as well. You can check out both below:
What Lies Below The Lilies Chosen to Advertise Storygrounds

This is probably the first time most of us have even heard of Storygrounds, much less What Lies Below The Lilies. The latter I can justify because it’s a very new webcomic. The former, though, is still an enigma. Their own website seems to be extremely vague about what the service actually does. They seem to be hosting a bunch of original webcomics, but that’s it as far as I can tell. Time will tell whether they can compete with Webtoons. At the very least, though, you can check out their official website if any of their webcomics interest you.
