SAKAMOTO DAYS is turning out to be one of the most popular anime series on Netflix. It’s not surprising really, especially if you were already a fan of the manga series of the same name by Yuto Suzuki it was adapted from. The combination of insane action and all the comedy in that action, along with a surprisingly heartfelt story, has attracted a massive number of fans. All in spite of the first cours of the anime only having 11 episodes in it to boot.
And thus, you can understand why we’re getting this bit of news today. Netflix is proud to hype up SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 1 Part 2 with a brand new addition to the English dub cast: Jacob Bertrand, who will be voicing Gaku. Bertrand will be joining the rest of the English dub cast, who will be reprising their original roles. That cast includes Matthew Mercer (Blood of Zeus) as Taro Sakamoto, Dallas Liu (Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender) as Shin Asakura, Rosalie Chiang (Turning Red) as Lu Shaotang, Rosie Okumura as Aoi Sakamoto, Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai) as Heisuke Mashimo, Aleks Le (Solo Leveling) as Nagumo, and Vinnie Hacker as X/Slur.
That announcement also comes with a brand new SAKAMOTO DAYS Part 2 Global Trailer on YouTube. Despite its name, it’s actually an English dub trailer, since the entirety of that trailer is in English dub. You can check out that trailer below:
SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 1 Part 2 Eagerly Shows Off English Dub
Honestly, the English dub voice actors are pretty alright in this trailer. They do a pretty decent job voicing their respective characters in SAKAMOTO DAYS. Ironically though, the person who’s the star of today’s story, Jacob Bertrand, isn’t actually in this trailer. Or at least, Gaku isn’t present in the nearly 2 minutes of the actual trailer. I guess we’ll just have to wait for the second cours to hit Netflix on July 14, 2025. In the meantime, you can watch the first cours also on Netflix to catch up on what has happened.
