It’s been twenty years since Dexter Morgan first showed his blood-splatter skills on our screens, and the conversation has never truly died. It makes sense, really, that two spinoffs–Dexter: New Blood and Dexter: Original Sin–would pop back up in the age of nostalgia. But you can’t revisit the infamous Bay Harbor Butcher without giving him another chance to return.

Also returning is one very familiar face: James Remar as Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan. He manifests as Dexter’s conscience, guiding him as he deals with both his past and his present.

We were fortunate enough to sit down with stars James Remar and Jack Alcott at the Dexter: Resurrection junket in New York City, and you can check out that interview below. We discussed what it’s like to return to the world twenty years later, the weight of upholding the legacy, and much more.

‘DEXTER: RESURRECTION’: JAMES REMAR & JACK ALCOTT | THS INTERVIEW

ABOUT DEXTER: RESURRECTION

After sustaining a near-fatal gunshot wound from his son, Harrison, Dexter miraculously survives, only to be confronted with a ghost of his past in the form of Captain Angel Bautista, who has begun to suspect him of being the Bay Harbor Butcher. When Dexter hears that Harrison has been seen in New York City, he chases him there, only for Bautista to follow hot on his tail.

Dexter: Resurrection is now streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime.
