The new Peacock series Crystal Lake has found its Jason Voorhees. They just might be a bit smaller than you remember. Callum Vinson (Chucky, Long Bright River) has been cast as Jason Voorhees in the series. Brad Caleb Kane serves as creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer.
Pamela Voorhees is played by Linda Cardellini in the series. Her backstory is under wraps, but it’s said that she was a mother who gave up a promising singing career to raise a special needs child and that takes a dark turn when she loses her son.
If you haven’t seen Friday the 13th, Pamela is the villain of the first film, taking revenge on camp counselors after they forgot about Jason earlier and he drowned. Jason is set off my witnessing his mother’s decapitation at the end of that film and he goes on as the hockey mask wearing hulk. Vinson is billed as a recurring guest star, as this new project focuses on Pamela.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a young Jason, we saw him in the first film at the very end played by Ari Lehman, in addition to Warrington Gillette, Steve Dash, Richard Brooker, Ted White, Tom Morga, C.J. Graham, Kane Hodder, Ken Kerzinger, and Derek Mears.

In addition to Vinson, Nick Cordileone (Warrior), Joy Suprano (Fleishman is in Trouble, Best Foot Forward), Danielle Kotch (Director’s Cut), and Phoenix Parnevik (Bel-Air, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter Is Dead) have joined the cast.
Cordelieone will play Ralph, the town drunk and the person who warns passing people of the evil summer camp. Joy Suprano will play Rita, Kotch will play Claudette, and Parnevik as Barry. Barry is important because he’s Pamela’s first victim in the original film. His girlfriend, Claudette, is her second victim.
Crystal Lake is executive produced by A24, Kane, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian and Stuart Manashil.
