Hollywood was out in force for The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ world premiere last night. There was a wave of positive impressions on social media in the aftermath. Marvel Studios welcomed attendees into the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to witness the beginning of Phase 6. Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach were all there to support their new film and each other. It was a retro-flavored affair, as you would expect from the distinct 60s vibe of The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Marvel fans also saw a bunch of big stars hanging out on the blue carpet too. Simu Liu, Dave Bautista, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (aka Simon Williams), Ioan Gruffudd, Xochitl Gomez, Regan Aliyah, Dafne Keen, Tony Revolori, Lewis Tan, Cameron Monaghan and Arian Moayed were all on-hand. Once the premiere of the movie closed the curtain, composer Michael Giacchino delivered a live orchestral performance of The Fantastic Four: First Steps theme.

Those First reactions were really warm and that trend continued after last night’s premiere. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is a 1960s-flavored retro future story where Marvel’s first family has to bond together to save their planet from destruction. Different attendees praised the main cast for their chemistry. Director Matt Shakman also drew rave reviews for the visuals on-hand, and his use of Galactus and Silver Surfer.
