Hall H is the place where the biggest and the baddest movies go at San Diego Comic-Con. It’s where huge moments from Marvel, DC, and other studios have been made. Predator: Badlands took its place in Hall H history with their panel at SDCC 2025. The film comes from Dan Trachtenberg, who directed Prey and the excellent Predator: Killer of Killers.

The panelists included Dan Trachtenberg, Elle Fanning, Demetrious Schuster-Koloamatangi, and Alec Gillis with moderation from Kevin Smith. Smith kicked off the panel with a hilarious interaction with his daughter Harley Quinn about being at Comic-Con for Predator: Badlands.

Trachtenberg talked about making a sequel to Prey with Predator: Badlands.

After that, Predator: Killer of Killers was brought up, and Trachtenberg revealed that they had actually changed part of the ending/post-credits scene to include Dutch and Mike Harrigan from Predator and Predator 2. The new scene is available to watch now on Hulu and Disney+.

Then the questions went to the other members of the panel including Elle Fanning, who stated that there are no humans in Predator: Badlands. She also teased the two roles she plays in the film.

Demetrious Schuster-Koloamatangi stars as the main Predator in the film, and he was excited to be at Comic-Con and also about bringing the Predator to life.

He was actually in the suit for the movie and nearly everything on it was done practically besides the face, which allowed him to actually perform during scenes, heightening the emotion.

Alec Gillis made sure that they were using practical effects for as much as they could on the film.

Finally, Dan Trachtenberg made a TINY tease of Alien Vs. Predator for the future. But the best was yet to come when they showed us the first 15 minutes of the film. While it was still missing certain shots, they asked us to use our imagination for the unfinished parts. The story of Predator: Badlands is much deeper than I was expecting, it’s a story of a young Predator that has to kill an unkillable monster to appease his father, who leads their clan. He’s sent to a world that is full of things that are deadly and he finds an android to help him.

Overall, this panel only made me more excited to see Predator: Badlands. It’s one of the most anticipated movies of the year for me. It releases in theaters on November 7th, 2025.
