Are you ready for National Book Lovers Day? Shout! TV is! They’re putting out a new episode of Double Take with author/host Mallory O’Meara with a double feature of The Loveless and The Decline Of Western Civilization Pt. 2 on August 9th!
It’ll include exclusive segments on the films and what makes them a must watch for book lovers. The event will stream on the Shout! TV channel and Shout! Movies beginning at 8PM ET / 5PM PT on August 9.
In The Loveless, co-directed and co-written by Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) and Monty Montgomery (Wild At Heart) in both of their feature film debuts, Willem Dafoe (Nosferatu) made his unforgettable movie debut as the leader of a ‘50s biker gang lost in a world of black leather, bad girls, and violence. The film was an independent hit that marked the emergence of one of modern cinema’s most important directors.
The second film in Penelope Spheeris’ (Suburbia, Wayne’s World) music documentary trilogy, The Decline Of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years (1988), takes a fast-paced look at the outrageous heavy metal scene of the late ‘80s. Set in Los Angeles, the film explores fascinating portraits of struggling musicians, fans and star-struck groupies featuring legendary moments with Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Megadeth, and members of Aerosmith, Kiss, Motorhead, and more.
Double Take can be viewed on the brand new FAST Channel Shout! Movies, as well as on the Shout! TV channel.
