The doors are closing at Downton Abbey for a final time. After fifteen years, the story of Downton Abbey reaches its conclusion in its farewell film, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. It is, appropriately, the end of an era for these families and their lives. Saying goodbye is never easy, but when the conclusion is written well, it does take some of the sting away. Legacy endures, and Downton Abbey will always have a place in our hearts and on our television sets.
We got to sit down with stars Joanne Froggatt and Laura Carmichael at the press junket in New York City. There we discussed the final moments of the show, the incredible CGI involved with the Ascot scenes, and how it felt to see the journey of their characters from beginning to end.
