“Brownsville Bred: is in theaters nationwide September 19 from Viva Pictures. This coming-of-age drama is written and directed by award-winning Elaine Del Valle. The film is an adaptation from her award-winning novel and critically acclaimed stage play about her story as a young girl and her relationship with her father.

With the release of “Brownsville Bred“, I spoke with Del Valle about her film. For me personally it was an opportunity to thank for showcasing a type of community that I was familiar with. Seeing similar parallels to the environment where I was raised. She talked about how important it was to have that kind of representation on screen.
