Hasbro and Skybound Entertainment are teaming up for a show based on Energon Universe from Robert Kirkman. Deadline was first with the news about the new series and a slate of TV shows from Hasbro Entertainment. The series is a crossover between G.I. Joe, Transformers, and Void Rivals. It’ll be more adult-focused in the vein of Kirkman’s other smash-hit series Invincible. The fifth season of that show premieres on Prime Video next March.
Kirkman, who’s been a fan of G.I. Joe and Transformers since his childhood, won the comic book publishing rights to the brands in 2021. He created a shared universe between the two of them alongside his original IP, Void Rivals, which he co-created with Lorenzo De Felici. Energon Universe has been one of Hasbro’s highest-selling comic book lines ever with over 7 million units sold.
Joe Henderson is attached to serve as the showrunner and writing the adaptation. His credits include Lucifier, White Collar, and Almost Human.
