Fans have been waiting patiently since the release of Terrifier 3 in 2023. Since then, there’s been some small updates here or there, but nothing really concrete. Today, series creator and director/writer Damien Leone gave an update on his social media accounts about the fourth film in the franchise.

He is right that there’s been plenty of false information and speculation about the film in recent years. People have said that the film was coming in 2026, and other statements. Here’s his full statement:

Hey guys!

Since there’s so much Terrifier 4 speculation and false information out there, I wanted to drop in and give an official update.

The script is ver close to completion, and I’m hoping to begin pre-production this Spring. This is the most precious script I’ve written for many reasons, but it’s also the most challenging. There’s a lot of material to tackle and a lot riding on this one, not just creatively but emotionally.

We’ve built something special together over the years. The cast and crew who have been here since the beginning deserve a finale that honors their dedication, and the fans who’ve championed this franchise deserve something unforgettable.

In all honesty, I’m thrilled with the way it’s turning out and confident it will deliver. I will offically announce when the script is complete on my social media pages which also means we’ll be moving into pre-production. If you don’t see it coming from or confirmed by me, then it’s not official.

Thank you for your patience. I promise it will be worth the wait!

So while that’s a disappointing update for anyone who wanted to see the movie immediately, it means that Leone and Co. are working diligently on the film and wanting to make it as good as it can be. Terrifier 4 is looking like it’ll be the closeout for the series for now, so here’s to hoping its an exceptional and emotional finale for Sienna, Art, and everyone involved.

As for details and casting, we don’t have anything concrete at the moment.
