This week’s What We’re Watching on THS is taking a trip to the extremes. Luckily,  Hoppers and The Bride! are here to make this weekend a colorful time. Horror and couch time are here too! We’ve got the best picks for what you should be watching on THS!

Hoppers – In theaters this weekend

Pixar is back and a Beaver tale that will warm your heart. Hoppers comes from Daniel Chong, of We Bare Bears fame. Piper Curda plays Mabel, a girl turned into a beaver. The animal kingdom comes alive in this one. We have to shout out the film’s breakout star, that freaking lizard. You’ve been on TikTok sometime in the last year, right? Then you know exactly what I’m talking about. This one is going to be a crowd-pleaser.

The Bride! – In theaters this weekend

Maggie Gyllenhaal’s new movie takes on The Bride of Frankenstein through a chaotic punk-influenced lens. Besides the visual wonder on display, we’ve got Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale acting their butts off in this one. A lot of the discourse surrounding this movie has failed to engage with the movie itself. But, people need to go see this one as it’s a novel flip on the resurgent Frankenstein story.

Dolly – In theaters this weekend

So, you’d like something a little unnerving this weekend? Dolly’s got you covered. Check out Rod Blackhurst’s visceral take on a monster story. Fabianne Therese’s character Macy has been kidnapped by this nightmare fuel looking doll woman? It’s a wild time, and if you love horror as a genre, you’ll find something to like here. Be forewarned this one is brutal.

Ted – Streaming on Peacock

Peacock brings us the latest installment in the little franchise that could. Who could have imagined that when Seth Macfarlane launched Ted all those years ago we’d still be talking about a foul mouthed teddy bear. Well, people love that concept. And Peacock is ready to give it to them with another take on John Bennett in high school

Peaky Blinders – Streaming on Netflix

Tommy Shelby comes in from the cold in this new movie from the wildly popular British crime drama series. Netflix brings Peaky Blinders fans a long awaited meal. Tom Harper directs and Steven Knight wrote Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. If you loved the gritty, tense trials and tribulations of the Shelby Gang, look no further. For a while, we thought that this movie would never happen. And, here we are!

Young Sherlock – Streaming on Prime Video

A Prime Video event is here with young Sherlock. Guy Ritchie is back directing Sherlock Holmes. But no Robert Downey junior here as the detective’s origin story takes full focus. You know that with Prime Video, there was a ton of people waiting for this one to exist. Young Sherlock does not disappoint with some of the slick drama and intrigue you would expect from the titular character.
