This weekend’s box office was driven by one major breakout that far exceeded expectations. While several holdovers remained in the top five, a new family-friendly release completely reshaped the chart and delivered one of the strongest openings of the month.
Hoppers Hops to a Massive Opening

Hoppers debuted with an impressive $46 million opening weekend.
This result easily cleared expectations. Tracking suggested an opening between $22 million and $31 million, but last week’s prediction pointed out the potential for a much larger debut due to limited family competition and fading interest in GOAT. Even with that optimistic outlook, $46 million still qualifies as a major overperformance.
Family-friendly films often become the go-to theatrical option when the marketplace lacks alternatives, and Hoppers clearly capitalized on that dynamic.
Scream 7 Drops but Remains Strong
Scream 7 earned $17.3 million in its second weekend.
After a massive debut last week, the horror sequel experienced a typical second weekend drop. Even so, the film continues to generate strong numbers and remains one of the biggest theatrical draws currently in circulation.
The Bride! Opens Below Tracking
The Bride! opened with $7.3 million.
Tracking had the film projected between $8 million and $15 million, with a prediction of roughly $10 million. The final result came in below even the low end of that range. Limited promotional momentum and muted audience awareness likely capped its potential, leaving the film with a quieter debut than expected.
GOAT Slows in Week Four
GOAT added $6.6 million in its fourth weekend.
The film continues to taper off after its strong early performance. With Hoppers now capturing the family audience and Scream 7 dominating the horror space, the marketplace has become more crowded. Even so, four weekends in the top five signal solid staying power.
Wuthering Heights Finishes the Top Five
Wuthering Heights earned $3.8 million in its fourth weekend.
The romantic drama continues its gradual wind-down after several weeks in the top tier. While the numbers have slowed considerably, maintaining a presence in the top five this late into its run still reflects steady audience interest.
Reminders Of Him Predictions
Next weekend brings the release of Reminders of Him, which is currently tracking between $8 million and $13 million. The film does have a built-in audience thanks to the popularity of the novel and the dedicated fanbase surrounding author Colleen Hoover. However, there has been a noticeable wave of Hoover adaptations hitting theaters recently, and this one has not received nearly the same marketing push as some of the earlier releases.
That combination could limit its ceiling. The core readers will likely show up, but without broader promotional momentum, it may struggle to break out beyond that group. A debut around $9 million feels like the most realistic landing point.
