In case you didn’t know, we here at THS like to follow in the religion of Jason Statham. He’s been the King of the January movie for a bit now, but he’s got a new movie from the director of Plane (also absolutely excellent) coming on August 21st. Mutiny tells the story of a man trying to avenge his boss’ death in every way that he can. Oh and he’s fighting against human traffickers.
Mutiny stars Jason Statham, Annabelle Wallis, Roland Møller, and Adrian Lester. It was directed by Jean-François Richet and written by Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis. Check out the trailer below.
These kind of movies are what I like to call the “Daddy’s Home” genre of action movies. They’re comfort food, we know what’s going to happen, and everything is gonna be all right. Just not for the bad guys. Jason Statham is channeling his inner Charles Bronson for roles like this and Mutiny looks like another in his long list of great action films.
We’ll be seated. Hail Statham.
