Destination D23 is in the books and Disney made some absolutely massive announcements at their trademark presentation. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort played host to fans from all over. There were different events, shopping, and of course, peeks at what the studios had planned for the future. Destination D23 was chock-full of so much new information about the upcoming Disney projects, we thought it would be good to round them all up here.

Ice Age: Boiling Point teases a new entry for 2027 at D23

Some familiar faces are back on February 5th, 2027.  Ice Age: Boiling Point sees Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scratched, and more friends discovering new corners of the Lost World.  It’s been a long time since this project was announced. Fans are beyond ready for there to be fresh adventures with Sid and the rest of the crew. Ray Romano and company return for Ice Age: Boiling Point in a couple of years!

D23 gives fans an extended look at Toy Story 5

It’s hard to believe that it’s the 30th anniversary of Toy Story. Disney and Pixar are re-releasing the classic film in theaters on September 12th to 2025.  To help celebrate this milestone, Buzz Lightyear will also fly in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade this November as his own balloon. Buzz has it soared to Infinity and beyond during the parade since 2013, so that’ll be fun.

 But the main event was definitely Toy Story 5. On June 19 2026, Toy Story fans will meet Smarty Pants, a new character voiced by Conan O’Brien. In addition, the attendees at Destination D23 got to see the first 3 minutes of the movie before anyone else!

Hoppers teases a fun body-swapping adventure at D23

Pixar fans are well aware that Hoppers is coming to theaters in March of 2026. Daniel Chong directs the original movie with producer Nicole Paradis Grindle. They came onstage with Hoppers star Piper Curda to tease Mabel’s upcoming adventure. Bobby Moynihan also brought the house down as he debuted his voice for King George. Destination D23 fans got to see three extended clips from the upcoming Pixar movie.

Destination D23 presents a feast for Tron fans

TRON: Ares makes its way back to the grid on October 10, 2025. But, the new movie wasn’t the only thing featured at Destination D23. Tron Lightcycle/Run is getting a new red overlay and original music from Nine Inch Nails ahead of the movie’s debut. The Walt Disney World Resort attraction and the Shanghai Disney Resort attraction get the upgrades on September 15 & 16 respectively. 

As an added bonus, TRON fans are getting remasters from Disney! Both TRON and TRON: Legacy will get 4K Ultra HD remasters on digital and Blu-ray Steelbook on September 16, 2025. 

Hexed revealed at Destination D23

Walt Disney Animation Studios revealed a new project! November 2026 will see Hexed debut in theaters. A boy and his mom discover that his quirky nature is actually magical powers. There’s an entire world of magic out there. Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand direct Hexed. Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones are producing the movie.

Zootopia 2 drops new details!

Patrick Wharburton and Yvette Nicole Brown are in the cast for Zootopia 2! Wharburton is Mayor Windracer in the upcoming Disney film. Brown is playing The Baroness and EMT Otter in Zootopia 2. Director Jared Bush gave the fans a look at some clips from the movie while Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde made an appearance.

Diary of a WImpy Kid: The Last Straw hits Disney+ on December 5, 2025. Jeff Kinney sent a special message to the fans at Destination D23. Greg Heffley is back for another silly adventure. His dad is trying to influence Greg away from his wimpy ways. Matt Danner directs the movie and Kinney handles writing duties.

D23 is coming back to Anaheim next year

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event returns to Anaheim, California August 14-16, 2026. There’s a D23 Day at Angel Stadium and a D23 Day at Disneyland during that weekend. Jodi Benson was announced as an official D23 Fan-bassador. She’ll be engaging with fans and making appearances with the D23 crew leading up to the big event. 

Disneyland Handcrafted is coming to Disney+ and Disney’s YouTube channel this winter. There’s an amazing look at how the most magical place on Earth came together 70 years ago. This documentary is truly amazing. 

Walt Disney’s animatronic is coming to Disney’s Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom! Executive Creative Director for Walt Disney Imagineering Chris Beatty appeared during the panel to reveal how it will all work.

“The introduction of a new Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney in Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress marks an exciting milestone in our shared mission to celebrate the story of the man behind the magic and inspire new generations with his innovations and vision for the future,” Kirsten Komoroske, executive director of the Walt Disney Family Museum, said. “We appreciate the continued efforts and meticulous care that Imagineering has taken to keep Walt’s legacy alive.”
