As you can tell by the art styles, both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss come from the same creator: Vivienne Medrano, aka. VivziePop. Both shows have also become enormously popular, both free on YouTube (Hazbin Hotel pilot and entire Helluva Boss series) and not free on Amazon Prime Video. I mean, seriously, it’s not every day that you get an adult animated musical comedy series set in the depths of Hell, of all places. It’s probably why critics have been giving both series wildly positive reviews, and why you should check them out, too.

All of this, of course, is why Amazon Prime Video is devoting so much attention to both series at San Diego Comic-Con this year. In fact, Prime Video is proud to announce that Hazbin Hotel will be getting a second season in a panel at SDCC 2025. A panel which also included an appearance by VivziePop herself, accompanied by Richard Horvitz and Brandon Rogers from Helluva Boss, and Erika Henningsen and Amir Talai from Hazbin Hotel.
That second season will make its streaming debut on October 29, 2025. How do I know this? Well, as part of the announcement, they also released a casting video for a brand new character named Abel to be voiced by Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy). Stump will join the cast alongside Kevin Del Aguila (Some Like It Hot The Musical) as Baxter, Alex Newell (Another Simple Favor) as Zeezi, Liz Callaway (Anastasia) as The Speaker of God, and Andrew Durand (Dead Outlaw The Musical) as Prick.

Helluva Boss Expanding to Prime Video?

That’s not all, though. Prime Video is also announcing that starting on September 10, 2025; Helluva Boss seasons 1 and 2 will be available to watch on Prime Video. Now, why would you watch it there when it’s free on YouTube, you might ask? Well, Prime Video is sweetening the deal with a special new episode titled “Mission: Zero”, which will deal with I.M.P.’s very first assassination. Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss Bringing Hell to SDCC 2025
Frankly speaking, this bit of news is a mixed bag for me. On one hand, it’s definitely great that Hazbin Hotel is getting a second season. On the other hand, the fact that Helluva Boss is also streaming on Prime Video. I know that Prime Video is using the special new episode to convince people to watch the show there, but it’s also raising fears that they will just outright remove the show from YouTube or lock it behind a paywall. They don’t mention anything about that in the announcement, so that only makes it all the more worrying.
