KPop Demon Hunters might be the hottest movie of 2025. It’s been a consistent charter for Netflix and even had a massive theatrical run for a sing-a-long version of the film. Now, Netflix is banking on more Demon Hunting in 2029. Netflix and Sony have finalized a deal for another film in the series with plans to release the animated musical sequel in 2029. The news was first reported by Bloomberg.

KPop Demon Hunters is a fantasy adventure about a fictional K-pop girl group who protect the world from demons with their music, was developed and produced by Sony Pictures Animation. As part of Sony’s licensing deal with Netflix, KPop Demon Hunters launched directly on Netflix and became their most popular movie of all time. Meanwhile, three of its original songs — “Golden,” “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop” — have topped Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and could land nominations at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

The sing-a-long version of KPop Demon Hunters earned $18 million at the box office over two days and then earned around $6 million at the Halloween weekend box office.

The film was co-directed by Maggie Kang alongside Chris Applehans.
