Haunted Hotel is likely something you’re familiar with as a concept, but not as an actual animated show. The fact that the showrunner is Matt Roller of Rick & Morty fame even tells us that it’s going to be quite hilarious. With a fairly large injection of adult humor into the mix as well, given the loads of it we see in Rick & Morty. Heck, we even have a fellow Rick & Morty veteran in the production crew in the form of Dan Harmon, who will be executive producing alongside Roller, Chris McKenna, and Steve Levy.

Fortunately, now we’re getting our first official look at this upcoming series. Netflix is proud to announce Haunted Hotel with a brand new official trailer. Said trailer even reveals that we’re going to get to see this adult animated horror series on September 19, 2025. It will, of course, be a Netflix exclusive, so you will need a paid subscription to watch it. You can watch that trailer either on YouTube, or by looking below:

Now this is a horror-comedy.

Both as spooky as this looks, and not.

Even a brief look at that trailer will show you that Haunted Hotel is definitely not for kids. From very bloody violence to quite a bit of profanity to egregious amounts of sexual humor, this is a very adult show. Parents: do not mistake this for a kid’s show just because it’s animated. Still, if you liked Rick & Morty‘s brand of humor, then you will probably enjoy this one’s humor too. It’s even right in the key art.
