May I Ask for One Final Thing? continues the story of Scarlet’s beatdown of the corrupt nobility in Ep. 4 “May I Go to See My Fists’ Beloved One (Punching Bag)?”. This time, she gets to use her fists on the heart of the slavery trade, spilling their blood right after they spilled out just how absolutely amoral and corrupt they are. It’s immensely satisfying to see them all being used as punching bags, especially when treason is one of the many crimes they’re being taken down for.

It’s only beating people up that makes Scarlet look this joyous.

Don’t worry. The good part will arrive shortly.

Let’s be real: we all watch May I Ask for One Final Thing? for precisely one thing: watching Scarlet (voiced by Asami Seto (JP) and Morgan Lauré (EN)) punch the faces of people who well and truly deserve it. Fortunately, Ep. 4 “May I Go to See My Fists’ Beloved One (Punching Bag)?” gives us a lot more of that, and spread out over quite a diverse list of villains to boot. You’ve got the general slavers themselves, who Scarlet whirls around at high speeds while laughing gaily, tossing slavers left, right, and center out of their second-floor gallery. Indeed, it’s like watching an uncovered blender in action, with all the hilarity that implies.

With the action finally finishing with Scarlet beating up a foreign adversary too, especially when he becomes an extremely unwanted suitor to her. It’s this fight that’s actually the most interesting because he actually puts up a fight…sort of. More like it’s impressive that he survives Scarlet punches to the face, but the fight also shows off Scarlet’s ingenuity at figuring out how to get past someone with ultra-tough skin and bones. Honestly, it’s this gradual diversification of Scarlet’s beatdowns that’s adding some flavor to them, as well as the developing conspiracy plotline around Terenezza (voiced by Ai Kakuma (JP) and Emily Neves (EN)). Let’s just say the revelation that this anime is actually an isekai but from the perspective of the local non-isekaied characters is quite an interesting development. We’ll be eager to see how this develops.

Of course, Liden Films Kyoto Studio’s animation team also gets some credit here. After all, their animation makes the fight scenes all the more entertaining. With fluid animation for Scarlet’s beatdowns, especially during the more brutal moments. Watching Scarlet repeatedly knee someone in the face is all the more satisfying when you see blood and splittle fly with each impact.

See?

Again, my one complaint about May I Ask for One Final Thing? is the lack of yuri. I feel like this story is just begging for yuri, especially due to Scarlet soundly rejecting her abusive suitor in the first episode after his idiotic breaking of their engagement. Alas though, this is not that kind of story, and Scarlet and Julius (voiced by Wataru Katoh (JP) and Reagan Murdock (EN)) have a very nice dynamic together.
