A brand new trailer for Spy x Family has just dropped from Crunchyroll. This time, that trailer features the upcoming season 3, which will start streaming on Crunchyroll on October 4, 2025. The announcement is something we’ve already covered on THS, and you can watch the trailer for yourself on YouTube. Now let’s take a closer look at what is actually in the trailer.
Spy x Family Season 3 Official Trailer: Details

As you might have noticed, everyone in this trailer seems to be quite concerned with Tonitrus bolts. Well, everyone except Anya, but you can excuse her on account of her still being around 5 years old. However, even she’s going to have to shape up, because this season marks the appearance of Donna Schlag. We don’t know who will voice her, but the fact that everyone calls her “Old Lady Tonitrus” in the trailer should give you all an idea of what she’s like. Can Anya survive the school year without a new Tonitrus bolt? Welp, we’ll just have to find out when this new season starts streaming.
Aside from that impending threat of Tonitrus bolts, Anya’s life looks like it will be quite entertaining for us to watch. Yor will attempt to cook once more, emphasis on “attempt” (and to everyone’s detriment), and the normally unflappable Loid will once more face the despair of seeing Anya get a Tonitrus bolt…again. All while Anya tries once more to attain Damian’s friendship for “world peace”…and then forget what she was doing in the midst of childish silliness. For fans of slice of life comedy, this will be your dream come true.
However, the most fascinating aspect of the Season 3 trailer is the featuring of seemingly original new content for the anime. The scene at the construction site with the out of control grapple loader vehicle is not something I remember from the manga. However, fear not, manga fans. The anime has featured original content in the past, and they’ve always felt very much in-character for the series. In fact, they feel so in-character that it’s almost as if Tatsuya Endo himself had a hand in making them. We don’t know if this is actually the case, but it’s nice to imagine it being so.
