The Lich King, Arthas Menethil, is a legendary character in World of Warcraft. Following his tragic fate, he now leads an army of undead–the master of the Scourge, ruling Northrend from the Frozen Throne atop Icecrown Citadel. He is armed with his iconic runestone sword, Frostmourne.
Released in 2008, Wrath of the Lich King was the second expansion to Blizzard Entertainment’s famous MMORG, World of Warcraft. This expansion expanded the world of Azeroth by introducing the continent of Northrend. Its compelling storyline offered players the chance to confront the Lich King in his frozen citadel and concluded Arthas’s story, which began in the real-time strategy game, Warcraft III.
