Legendary Comics and Rocketship Entertainment are announcing a new Kickstarter campaign for a graphic novel anthology based on The Toxic Avenger, which releases on August 11th, 2025. The deluxe hardcover edition offers fans early access to exclusive stories and collectible content ahead of the film’s debut.

The new movie is a reimagining of the Lloyd Kaufman 1984 classic with a screenplay and directed by Macon Blair. It takes the tale of Winston Gooze, a downtrodden janitor transformed by a catastrophic toxic accident into a new kind of hero: The Toxic Avenger. Now, with radioactive powers and a mop in hand, Toxie must rise from outcast to savior—defending his son, his friends, and his community from corrupt corporate forces. The film hits theaters nationwide as an unrated wide release on August 29, kicking off Labor Day weekend.

To expand the world of the film, the graphic novel brings together a wild crew of comics’ top writers, artists, and die-hard Toxie fans for a riotous and radioactive ride. The Kickstarter edition includes:

  • Two exclusive stories unavailable in the standard retail edition (in stores September 2)
  • Behind-the-scenes artwork
  • Collectible add-ons and stretch goal items
