One of the most often cited reasons for not keeping up with the world of Marvel Television projects is that now classic statement of, “I don’t want to do the homework.” That’s a fair excuse to have, but it’s one I think has already started to diminish, because of the increased distance between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Disney+ originals.
However, it’s something that’s about to become less of a problem for me personally, thanks to the footage shown at Marvel TV and Animation’s NYCC 2025 panel. In one specific case, I’ll need to do a bit of homework; but for the most part, the shows teased are either programs I’m caught up on, or will easily be able to dive into before they return. Which is good, because this was a panel full of winners; so let’s talk about why.

Wonder Man Looks Like Marvel’s Answer To The Studio (And I Love That)
We’re starting out the gate with a fresh one, folks; thanks to that new trailer for Wonder Man. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, this new show is about making superhero movies…in a world where heroes exist. Co-starring the legendary Sir Ben Kingsley, who was also on hand alongside the Aquaman veteran leading this project, MCU “actors” Simon Williams (Abdul-Mateen) and Trevor Slattery (Kingsley) are about to address superhero fatigue in a supremely meta way – by remaking an in-universe superhero movie.
This truly looks like Marvel’s spin on The Studio, with an interview between EW and Brad Winderbaum, Head of Streaming, Television and Animation for Marvel Studios, calling it out. Some lower-stakes comedy, with sharp satire and a budding bromance, is exactly what Marvel could use.

Jessica Jones’ Reintroduction In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Is Pure Magic
Ok folks, here’s where the cards really hit the table: I still need to watch the Netflix Marvel shows. It’s not for lack of interest, but rather it’s more that life has gotten in the way for some time. From what I know of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Kristen Ritter’s Jessica Jones, I know I’m going to like what I see. It’s all just been a matter of priority really. Well, consider those series high up on my list of streaming catch up duty, as the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 trailer has awoken memories of why I like their characters in the first place.
Some trippy business is going on in the New York of Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), and apparently Ms. Jones needs to step in to help level the playing field. Speaking of hizzoner, the Marvel TV and Animation Panel at New York Comic Con 2025 kicked off with a stern welcome from Mayor Fisk, which felt threatening in no way whatsoever. Good thing Born Again Season 3 already has a greenlight, as something tells me that another huge Marvel cliffhanger is in our future.

X-Men ‘97’s Future Is About To Get Darker, Thanks To Much Lighter News
Friends and readers, the band is officially back together. As Brad Winderbaum was personally on stage to reveal information about what’s new and exciting in Marvel TV and Animation, a beautiful reunion took place. Announced as the executive producers of X-Men ‘97’s Season 2, Eric and Julia Lewald walked onto the stage to hype up the future past of Professor Xavier’s gifted youngsters.
If you want to know what’s coming in a word, try “Apocalypse,” as the legendary comic baddie was shown in action on screen – and in a collectable comic cover given out after the panel. However, if you want two more words to really spice things up, then add “time travel” to that sentence. Apparently, the X-Men ‘97 cast of heroes are scattered throughout time, and need to go back to the ‘90s to save the world. If only I had a nickel for every time I’ve thought that same thing…

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Just Made Charlie Cox A Busy Man
Charlie Cox loves Daredevil. No, seriously, the man is absolutely endeared to the character; and he told the Empire Stage crowd as much when showing up for Daredevil: Born Again’s new trailer. However, that wasn’t his first appearance of the day, as earlier the trailer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 revealed that the man without fear will be showing up in this animated universe – with Cox voicing him.
As for the rest of what this sneak peek had to offer, it’s practically a Marvel TV and Animation pitch person’s dream. Do you want a Venom storyline? You’ve got it. Waiting for Gwen Stacey to be brought into the fold? Done. Is Colman Domingo’s Norman Osborne back, and still deliciously shady? Oh yes. All of this, plus a tease of Nico Minoru (Grace Song) coming into her own heroic powers, make for something I definitely need to catch.

Vision Quest Is Now One Of My Most Anticipated Shows Of 2026
Everyone loves a surprise guest, and by the time Brad Winderbaum unfurled the Vision Quest trailer upon the world, a surprise guest did indeed walk out onto the stage. Though to be fair, since Paul Bettany mentioned that he is a New York resident, maybe we should have seen this coming. However, what I didn’t see coming is the end of the Vision and Wanda trilogy of shows becoming something I need to experience along with everyone else.
In my defense, I was burned twice through the promising starts and disappointing finales of WandaVision and Agatha All Along. “So what changed your mind, Mike” you may be asking your screen. Well, the concept that showrunner Terry “12 Monkeys” Matalas has in play feels more reminiscent of the Tom King Vision books I read in preparation for WandaVision. So I’m doubly prepared, and ready to finally see White Vision (Paul Bettany) wrestle with his own questions of existence and mortality.
Plus, humanoid representations of pretty much every Stark Industries A.I. exist in Vision Quest…including James Spader’s long awaited return as Ultron! If you’ve always wanted to see The Blacklist star bring his weird yet threatening energy to the MCU, but without a mo-capped performance, then you’re my kind of friend.
Release Date: TBD 2026
As you’ll notice there aren’t a lot of release dates up there, with Vision Quest having absolutely no window defined for its 2026 debut. It figures, the series I’ve already done the homework for is waiting as a potential carrot to finish the job. Anyone else looking to do the same only needs a Disney+ subscription, and time management skills, to get in on the fun.
