Superman came out in the middle of 2025 to acclaim across the board. It was one of the most hopeful and excellent superhero movies in recent memory. It featured some great villains including Lex Luthor and The Engineer, played by Maria Gabriela de Faria. She recently sat down with our friend Brandon Davis on his show The Brandon Davis Show to talk all things DC and Superman. She had some pretty interesting comments on the show Peacemaker and one character in particular. They went on in this conversation to cover some things like The Authority and Maria getting hypothermia on the set of Superman!

Here’s what Maria had to say about Harcourt and the actress behind her, Jennifer Holland.

“Jennifer Holland is one of the f***ng best actress of our generation and Harcourt is one my favorite female characters, period.

“I just keep, like, daydreaming that Engineer and Harcourt could be bitchy together.”

Maria went on to talk about the second season of Peacemaker in particular.

“It would be kinda sad. They’re two sad women,” she added. “We left Peacemaker with [Harcourt] not knowing that Peacemaker disappeared. So, what is going to happen when she finds out he’s nowhere to be found? Is it just gonna be like, ‘Oh, he left me. He went out to find cigarettes…’ She’s gonna be pissed!”

“The entire season is so heartbreaking. Yeah. Oh, and you know, fucking Jen never told me anything! I kept ask her questions while she was filming like, ‘Okay, so what happens?’ And she’s like, ‘I’m sorry, I know you love it so much. I can’t tell you!’ Bitch!”

She made sure to say that last line with a laugh. I’m sure her and Jennifer Holland had a great time talking about the filming of both Superman and Peacemaker.

About Superman And The Upcoming Sequel Man Of Tomorrow

Maria Gabriela de Faria is making her return as The Engineer in Superman: Man Of Tomorrow alongside David Corenswet in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.  The film also stars Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell. They’ve also announced that Lars Eidinger is playing the film’s villain, Brainiac. The film reportedly sees the Man of Steel and Luthor forced into an uneasy alliance against the cosmic-level threat. Brainiac immediately raises the stakes beyond anything DC has attempted theatrically to date.

Superman: Man of Tomorrow is set for release on July 9th, 2027.
