Disney dropped a brand new trailer for Zootopia 2. And there’s a brand new song for young viewers to get hype with. Shakira voices Zootopia’s biggest pop star Gazelle and her new song “Zoo” will get stuck in your head. The new Zootopia 2 trailer also features an extended look at Gary De’Snake (voiced by Ke Huy Quan, still riding high off that Oscar!) and Quinta Brunson’s new character as well. Ed Sheeran, Shakira, and Blake Slatkin wrote the new Zootopia 2 song. While “Zoo” releases on Friday October 10, the full soundtrack hits stores on Friday, November 21. Michael Giacchino is back from the depths of the multiverse to score Zootopia 2. (This summer, he crafted the sound of The Fantastic Four: First Steps with Marvel Studios. He’s been a busy guy!) We’ll see if “Zoo” can match the whirlwind success of “Try Everything” from the first Zootopia. That song notched 2.7 billion listens worldwide.
Zootopia 2 gives us a new trailer and a poster!
Here’s how Disney describes the anticipated follow-up: “In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia 2,” detectives Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down.”
“To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before. Oscar winner Jared Bush (co-director/co-writer “Zootopia,” director/co-writer “Encanto”) is directing and writing; Yvett Merino (Oscar-winning producer “Encanto”) produces. “Zootopia 2” hits theaters in November 2025.”
