Mike Flanagan knows who he likes to work with. Deadline is reporting that eleven different previous collaborators have been added to the cast of his upcoming reboot/reimagining of The Exorcist. The list includes Rahul Kohli, Hamish Linklater, Gil Bellows, Carl Lumbly, Robert Longstreet, Matt Biedel, Samathan Sloyan, Kate Siegel, John Gallagher Jr., Benjamin Pajak, and Carla Gugino.

These actors have appeared in various projects from Flanagan including Midnight Mass, The Fall of the House of Usher, Oculus, Hush, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Gerald’s Game, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Midnight Club, and The Life of Chuck.

The character and plot details of The Exorcist are under wraps for now. The new film is expected in theaters from Universal on Friday, March 12th, 2027.

What we do know is that the film is shooting in New York City and tells a new story in The Exorcist universe. It is not a sequel to the 2023 film The Exorcist: Believer. The previously announced cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Jacobi Jupe, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, John Leguizamo, Sasha Calle, and Diane Lane.

Mike Flanagan is writing and directing the film, alongside producing with his company Red Room Pictures. David Robinson for Morgan Creek Entertainment and Jason Blum for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster are also producing. Executive producers include Alexandra Magistro for Red Room Pictures and Ryan Turek for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.
