“Avatar: The Last Airbender” celebrated their 20 year anniversary at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Part of the celebration included a massive 1,800 square-foot booth inside the San Diego Convention Center that featured daily booth activities brought to you by Nickelodeon.
CATCHING UP WITH ZACH TYLER EISEN AND DANTE BASCO
As the crowds celebrated the beloved animated series, “Avatar: The Last Airbender”, I spoke with Zach Tyler Eisen and Dante Basco. Eisen voiced Aang and Basco voiced Zucko in the series. We talked about how it felt to have the series reach this milestone and still be able to attract so many fans. They shared with me some memories and how they feel about the series continuing to live on though other projects. It was a fun conversation that you can check out below!
ABOUT “AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER”
Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender emerged from its three-season run (61 episodes), from February 2005 to July 2008, as one of the most beloved animated properties in history. Honored with a Peabody Award and Primetime Emmy, along with multiple Annie Awards and Genesis Awards, the series follows the adventures of the main protagonist Aang and his friends, who must defeat Fire Lord Ozai and end the Hundred Year War to restore balance to the Four Nations.

Continuing the next era of the Avatar-verse, Avatar Studios will release The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender on October 9, 2026. Additionally, Nickelodeon announced the greenlight of Avatar: The Last Airbender: Seven Havens, a brand-new 2D-animated series which follows a young Earthbender who discovers she is the new Avatar, expanding the rich mythology and epic adventure of the beloved franchise.
