A CHAT WITH COMPOSER JAMES EVERINGHAM

With the release of “Chief of War”, I spoke with co-composer James Everingham. He co-scores the Apple TV+ series with Hans Zimmer. Together they blend traditional sounds with orchestral power along with modern textures to compliment the story.

If our conversation, Everingham shares with me his experience in being invited into this culture to help create the sounds for the series. He shares with me his approach to his research, his discovery of unique sounds, and if there was any level of intimidation in taking such a pivotal role in such a personal story for the people of Hawai’i. He also talks about his collaboration with Zimmer in making the score. Its a great conversation that you can check out below!
