“David” is the next animated feature film being released by Angel Studios. It tells the familiar Biblical tale that is often shrinked down to his battle with Goliath. But there is a lot more to the story of David that is told through this film. This includes an array of original songs that delivers a message of faith and hope to families during this holiday season. It will be released in theaters on December 19.

A CHAT WITH THE VOICES OF YOUNG DAVID AND SAMUEL

With the release of the film, I had the opportunity to talk with Brandon Engman and Brian Stivale. Engman voices a young David, while Stivale voices the prophet Samuel. In our conversation we talk about David’s story and why we need to look at it further than just his confrontation with the giant. We look at each of their characters and what they were able to take away from re-examining this legendary Biblically story. Finally we chat about why this a great film families this holiday season. Its a great chat that you can check out below!

ABOUT “DAVID”

From the songs of his mother’s heart to the whispers of a faithful God, David’s story begins in quiet devotion. When the giant Goliath rises to terrorize a nation, a young shepherd armed with only a sling, a few stones, and unshakable faith steps forward. Pursued by power and driven by purpose, his journey tests the limits of loyalty, love, and courage. Culminating in a battle not just for a crown, but for the soul of a kingdom.
