“Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy” is now on Peacock. The series follows the twisted life of Gacy, while showcasing the victims and their families that were affected by the horrific actions of one man. One other thing the series does very well, is showcasing the flawed criminal and justice system of that time. As so many missing people went unnoticed or just ignored for so long. Also there was that careful prosecution of Gacy, who prosecutors had to be sure to receive a fair trial.
CHAT WITH SOME OF THE CAST PLAYING LAWYERS AND THE LEAD INVESTIGATOR
With the release of the series, I spoke with Chris Sullivan, James Badge Dale, and Michael Angarano. Dale plays the lead investigator, Sullivan plays the prosecutor in Gacy’s case, while Angarano plays his lawyer. In our conversation we talk about playing these key players in the arrest and prosecution of John Wayne Gacy. We get a chance to explore the how playing these roles gave them a new perspective on the justice system of that time. It was a great chat that you can check out below!
ABOUT “DEVIL IN DISGUISE: JOHN WAYNE GACY”
From 1972-1978, thirty-three young men were kidnapped, murdered, and buried in a crawl space beneath their killer’s house. And no one was the wiser. Not for all those years. Why? He was charming and funny. Had a good, All-American job. Was a community leader. He even volunteered to entertain sick kids… while dressed as a clown.
