Macon Blair got the chance of a lifetime to direct the newest Toxic Avenger film from Cineverse and Legendary Pictures/Troma Entertainment. It was a long time coming for the director, and not just because the film was on the shelf for so long. THS got the chance to sit down and chat with him about all things Toxie. Check out the interview below.

One thing that particularly struck me about the conversation we had, was the passion and deference to his stars/crew that Macon had. He had every chance to take the spotlight and have it be about himself, and he chose to talk about all the other wonderful people he worked with on this film.

The other thing that stuck out to me was talking to him about the soundtrack and what could have been. The big setpiece featuring “Overkill” could have been much different. He wanted to have a Danzig song in that spot, but the plans couldn’t come together. What we get on screen is even more awesome than you can imagine, so we’re thankful for the version we ended up getting.
