“The Senior” is now in theaters from Angel Studios. It’s amazing how you can find inspirational moments in unscripted real-life moments through sports. The grueling challenge on trying to prove yourself through competition.

Thus is the story of Mike Flynt who played starting defensive back in 1965. Then at the age of 59, returned to Sul Ross University and made history as the oldest starting linebacker in NCAA football. “The Senior” tells his remarkable story, where he is played by Michael Chiklis.

A CHAT WITH MIKE… AND MIKE

With the release of “The Senior”, I had the privledge to speak with Mike Flynt and Michael Chiklis. Its fun interview where I got to speak with the actor and the person he is portraying. Flynt spoke about his experience in getting to know Chiklis and what it was like for him to see his life being replayed in film. Chiklis talked about his football background and how that helped him for this role and his now relationship with Flynt. It was a fun conversation that you can check out below!

ABOUT ANGEL STUDIOS’ “THE SENIOR”

At 59, Mike Flynt might be too old to play college football—but not too old to settle unfinished business. Nearly forty years after leaving his team, he returns to his alma mater to face the moment that changed everything. Bruised, doubted, and nearly broken, he fights for one last game—not for glory, but for the teammates he lost, the family he fractured, and the ending he still believes is possible.
