As an entertainment journalist/movie fan who’s keeping their eye on the 2025 fall movies and beyond, I’m also up for something totally out there in the near future. When it’s an effort from someone like writer/director Gore Verbinski, a man who knows how to “really go for it,” I’m even more excited to see where things are headed. After building a heavy head of buzz debuting through events like Beyond Fest 2025, the trailer for his latest film Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, promises that he’s done it again.
In all honesty, I’m 100% here for that – and then some. Verbinski’s first film since 2016’s A Cure For Wellness (another picture I’d defend as a bonkers gem), the Sam Rockwell-starring ensemble is set to release February 13th. You can totally see why, as the following Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die footage is a fit for the same month that’s given us plenty of offbeat hits:
As you can see, Gore Verbinski’s latest takes the concept of The Terminator and transplants it to a hyper-colorful dark sci-fi comedy. Rockwell’s lead shows up to a diner one rainy night, looking for fellow crusaders who’ll help him disrupt an AI overlord. It’s a simple, familiar premise – but there’s enough unique twists here to keep open minded viewers on the hook.
That’s thanks to an army of zonked out teens, a randomly bloody birthday cake, and some mysteriously large hooves all being in the recipe. It a stew of craziness that stands out in the world of the “usual” movies on the market, which is a fun sell. However, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die has another weapon in its promotional arsenal; and it’s thanks to the rather cumbersome title it bears.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die’s Lengthy Title Is Actually A Star In This Trailer
With a title card advertising his credits through The Ring, the Pirates of the Caribbean films, and Rango, the marketing already understands to lean into the crazy. You only need to take in the fact that the marketing department tackles this mouthful of a title with a novel approach to remembering it.
There’s a catchy song that literally chants Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, and it’s rather fun to revisit. It all adds up to a total package that recalls the zaniness of Edgar Wright’s weirder entries in his own career, which is a hopeful window into Gore Verbinski’s box office chances.
So if you want to remember that title, just keep on chanting its tune until it opens on February 13th. It’s also kind of a fun mantra to live everyday life by, so it’s not like you’re not getting something out of the deal. Oh Mr. Verbinski, what will you think of next? Whatever it may be, you’ll want to keep up with THS’ Movie News updates, as we’ll have our eyes open for whatever comes next in the world of entertainment.
