Ella McCay has a trailer and a brand-new poster ahead of the movie’s release. James L. Brooks is directing again, after a 15-year absence. Emma Mackey stars opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in Ella McCay. Mackey’s young lawyer is learning to navigate the world around her. Curtis is a supportive aunt who is encouraging and warm. Rebecca Hall appears as Ella’s mother in this one as well.
A big draw for Ella McCay is this star-studded cast. Ayo Edebiri, Kumail Nanjiani, Jak Lowden and more are all here. There’s a throwback quality to the proceedings as Ella McCay openly courts a time where high-speed Internet was still the new hotness. Yes, the Elysian fields of the early 2000s. (Second time this year that Jamie Lee Curtis has spiritually revisited the Y2K era as well!) Check out the trailer for the movie up above!
