That Hashtag Show was graciously given a private screening of the upcoming film Good Fortune this week. The studio hosted at their headquarters in Santa Monica. For one thing, you can check out our review of Good Fortune below. But the atmosphere and hospitality at Lionsgate was great. It started with an introduction from our own Junior Felix and then followed with some Q&A videos with Phase Hero’s Brandon Davis.
Lionsgate has a great theater in its offices if you haven’t been there. It’s got surround sound, a quality screen, and some of the comfiest chairs in the Los Angeles area.
Several of the people in attendance had rave reviews for the film, including highlighting Keanu Reeves’ performance in the film. The other main thing that people brought up was the hidden message of the film that we all could use right now. Here’s what we had to say about the film in our review.
“Good Fortune ends up as a film that wants to tell you to love your life and live it to the fullest. The hilarity shines through any of the issues and Seth Rogen even gives a speech at the end of the movie that you wish anyone in his tech bro situation would actually give. There’s a lot to like here, so if you get past the issues, you’re in for a great time.“
The screening was a great time and if you get the chance, you should definitely make your way to Lionsgate for a screening sometime.
The Details Of Good Fortune

Good Fortune was written and directed by Aziz Ansari. It stars Ansari, Seth Rogen, Keanu Reeves, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh. Ansari stars as Arj, a gig-worker who is massively down on his luck. He does small-time jobs, works part-time at a hardware store, and is just on the struggle bus currently. Seth Rogen is the opposite end of the coin; he plays Jeff, a tech bro who’s “self-made” millions give him a life of luxury and a house on the hill that physically looks down on all the people of Los Angeles. Keke Palmer plays Elena, a love interest for Arj and someone he meets at his part-time hardware store job. Finally, Keanu Reeves plays Gabriel, a lower-end angel who protects people from texting and driving, of all things.
Good Fortune releases in theaters on October 17th.
