Actor Matthew Lillard has been a busy man as of late. With promotion for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and the arrival of Scream 7’s first trailer, his villainous side has been getting a workout. However, the benevolent geek business tycoon has also been indulging in his love of Dungeons & Dragons via brands like Find Familiar Spirits. That passion has come back to the forefront as well, courtesy of an announcement for the arrival of Quest’s End Monk – the latest whiskey offering from the brand.

Available for pre-sale on November 12th, and launching a day later, Quest’s End Monk is “the first cask strength whiskey” produced by the brand. That’s not enough detail to really get excited about this delicious sounding, so let’s look at what Quest’s End’s Master Blender Molly Troupe had to say, via the official announcement:

Quest’s End has always been about making spirits that are as authentic to the story and the character as they are to the art of distilling. With Monk, we are pushing the boundaries even further. Since the monk in our story channels volcanic energy and has such purity in his devotion, we decided that a pure, fiery, cask strength super-premium whiskey would be a perfect fit. It flawlessly blends the world of high-end spirits with the art of storytelling, giving both whiskey connoisseurs and gaming enthusiasts satisfying details to appreciate.

That “storytelling” angle isn’t just a marketing point either, as there will be a new chapter of Dawn of the Unbound Gods included – per the Quest’s End brand tradition! Closing out Season 2 of author Andrea Stewart’s tale, collectors following this particular tale can turn their pages while sipping some quality.

For those of you who love a good visual, check out the bottle design for Quest’s End Monk, complete with comic art from artist Tyler Jacobson:

Co-founding the brand with Blood Sucking Bastards’ writer Justin Ware and Blue Run Spirits’ Tim Sparapani, Matthew Lillard’s work with Find Familiar Spirits has produced some gorgeous liquors worthy of a group DND session. (Or a holiday dinner, for that matter!)  As someone who’s had the pleasure of trying Quest’s End Warlock, I can vouch for the quality of this label personally. So reading the following tasting notes practically has me salivating:

With notes of black cherry, toasted barley, and sun-kissed orange, it’s warm and inviting on the nose. With its high ABV, it remains delightfully warm and seductive on the palate, surrounding the senses with vanilla, freshly baked granola, and plum. At cask strength, this whiskey is both highly aromatic and packs a punch.

If that doesn’t sound like a holiday-friendly flavor that warms the weary traveler, I don’t know what does. Quest’s End Monk goes on presale November 12th, and launches on November 13th, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the drop. While it may not arrive for the holidays, this limited run whiskey will still be a beautiful gesture of gift giving to future you, or whomever you’re shopping for.
