The music world has lost a massive star as D’Angelo passed away at the age of 51. The neo-soul icon was a massive force in shaping modern R&B. Voodoo in 2000 and Black Messiah in 2014 were critical darlings upon release. But, most around R&B knew a sea change was afoot when Brown Sugar released in 1995. D’Angelo racked up four Grammy Awards over the course of his career.
