Are you someone who hasn’t had enough of the R-rated thrills, chills, and scares presented in Warner Bros.’ theatrical hit Sinners? Judging by how well writer/director Ryan Coogler’s picture performed at the summer box office, you probably are. If I’m right, then you’re in the exact place you should be to learn that this vampiric spectacle will be back on the big screen real soon. And when I say, “big screen,” I think you know what that means…
Warner Bros. Is Bringing Sinners Back To IMAX, As Foretold
You’ve heard the rumors, and seen people on social media swearing that the studio with the shield was going to give Ryan Coogler’s 2025 blockbuster another run. Sure enough, a press release from IMAX confirmed today that between October 30th and November 6th, large format screens will see the return of Sinners’ well-reviewed bloodletting. What’s more, tickets are currently on sale; so…surprise!
Considering how the Michael B. Jordan-led horror ensemble is still one of the year’s most talked about films, sending it back to IMAX auditoriums could make some easy bank. Even with Sinners’ availability on HBO Max and home media, the chance to see some of the most memorable cinematic moments of 2025 nice and big is too good to pass up. Which brings us to an unfortunate caveat when it comes to your next presumed question: what does this mean for potential showings in IMAX 70MM?

This New IMAX 70MM Revival Is A Very Limited Affair
Sinners previous saw an IMAX 70MM revamp in May, which unfortunately sold out almost immediately. Seeing as tickets are currently available, it may be too late to see this sizzling seasonal haunt in celluloid. However, if you’re curious, the following list of locations are where you’ll hypothetically be able to experience that warm glow of film-based wonder:
- AMC Lincoln Square in New York City, NY
- Universal AMC Citywalk in Los Angeles, CA
- Irvine Spectrum and IMAX in Irvine, CA
- AMC Metreon in San Francisco, CA
- Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis, IN
- Harkins Arizona Mills in Tempe, AZ
- Autonation IMAX in Ft. Lauderdale, FL
- Cinemark Dallas IMAX in Dallas, TX
- Cineplex Cinemas Vaughn in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
- BFI IMAX in London, UK
A (not so) fun fact: that list is roughly a third of the auditoriums available in the world that can still show IMAX 70mm. Perhaps if Sinners drains the box office’s jugular one more time, the pioneers of premium large format filmgoing might be persuaded to build/restore more screens that can do the honors. It certainly helps to have a poster like the one you’re about to see to help the cause:

We’ll see what happens when Ryan Coogler’s rollercoaster ride returns to twist and shout (with a bite), for one week only – starting October 30th!
