“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” has been announced as by Illumination and Nintendo as the next film based on the world of Super Mario Bros. It is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3, 2026 through Universal Pictures. A short title announcement trailer was also released which included some very familiar characters from the games.

RETURNING CAST TO “THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE”

With the announcement of the title, the two companies also revealed some of the returning cast which includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek. More voice actors will be revealed at a later date.

“The Super Mario Movie” was released in 2023 and took theaters by storm, earning over $1.3 billion worldwide. “The Super Mario Bros. Galaxy Movie” is directed by returning filmmakers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. Based on a screenplay by also returning screenwriter Matthew Fogel. Its produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo.
