Whether you’ve been studying our Tron: Ares Crash Course guide or have been counting down to opening day, there’s one thing we can all agree on: “Nine Inch Nails, man.” That sentiment comes from a new video released to warm up the crowd for Disney’s big threequel, and they came from none other than Jeff Bridges himself. But what’s even more amazing is the fact that the musical score had even more of an effect
To say or read that phrase is one thing. Of course, they sound even cooler coming out of The (Digital) Dude’s mouth. Which is why you should watch this promo for Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ score – set to be released this Friday via Amazon and other streamers/retailers:
Something tells me that Reznor and Ross would print out that still, subtitled, and hang it on the fridge in their recording studio. The accomplished duo, who are currently traveling under the Nine Inch Nails name, seem to be a universally agreed upon point of order among fans of all things Tron – and this glowing praise only proves it.
The involvement of the Academy Award-winning composers is something that the public only learned last year, during Disney’s D23 event. Of course, Tron: Ares director Joachim Rønning knew that he had this act in the bag throughout production. Which makes this statement from the sizzle reel above even cooler:
I knew that they were going to do the music. So I listened to them while we were shooting, to get in the groove.
You can’t deny that Ares seems to have a perfect marriage of visual and musical storytelling, as each promo and trailer has further solidified this relationship. Nine Inch Nails’ Tron: Ares music video for the single “As Alive As You Need Me To Be” is another example that highlights this point, even without featuring a shred of footage from this 2025 fall movie must-see.

Tron: Ares crosses over into our world on October 10th, with the soundtrack from Nine Inch Nails landing on streaming platforms and retailers alike this Friday, September 19th.
