The name “White Tiger” might be familiar to those of you comic book fans in the Latin American and Hispanic communities. That’s because the superhero, who went by the name of Hector Ayala, was the first Latin American main character to appear in any American comics, as well as being Marvel’s first Hispanic superhero. He has had a pretty storied career too, first appearing in Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #19 in December 1975. Honestly, we need more of such heroes in this day and age, in my honest opinion.

Thus, fans of the original White Tiger might be excited by this bit of news. Marvel Comics is proud to announce their upcoming new comic book one-shot WHITE TIGER REBORN #1. In fact, they’re releasing the comic in October 2025 to celebrate Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month as a Marvel Voices Comunidades special. In fact, they’re doubling down on that celebration by having the one-shot contain not one, but two stories. The first will feature Daniel José Older as the “superstar” writer and Bruno Abdias as the “rising star” artist. Meanwhile, the second will feature Bram Stoker award winner Cynthia Pelayo as the writer with Moises Hidalgo as the “acclaimed” artist.

As for what the actual stories will be about, well, we do have a synopsis of the story of WHITE TIGER REBORN #1. You can read it below:

Ava Ayala is the current wielder of the powers of the White Tiger, bearing the amulet of power that imbue its host with a connection to mystical power and martial arts prowess. As Ava returns to her old stomping grounds to protect the innocent, she becomes embroiled in a mystery that forces her to confront her family’s murder and history linking them to the White Tiger mantle as Ava is brought face-to-face with – Hector Ayala, her dead brother and the original White Tiger?!
