AFI Fest welcomed Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere into the TCL Chinese Theater for a screening. 20th Century Studios celebrated the release of the Jeremy Allen White biopic. Other cast members like Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Odessa Young, Harrison Sloan Gilbertson, Johnny Cannizzaro and Matthew Pellicano Jr were there too. So, the stars were truly out for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.
The Boss himself was also on-hand for the big screening. Bruce Springsteen is the focus of this movie and he treated the people in attendance to quite a show too. The legendary musician decided to perform “Atlantic City” and “Land of Hopes and Dreams” for the folks who made the trek to the TCL. Springsteen’s album “Nebraska” forms the bedrock of Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. His acoustic output is still haunting and more fans will get a chance to revisit that era from the 1980s.
How good is Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowehere?

There’s no question we’re in an age of more music biopics than most people even knew existed. Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere definitely slots into this larger trend. Our critic Hunter Bolding has seen his share of these life stories on the big screen over the last couple of years. In his eyes entries into the genre need to start finding new ways to hook audiences. You can cast someone who looks just like the celebrity in question, however, that doesn’t assure you a smash hit at the box office anymore.
“The music biopic has reached a tipping point where the next big one is going to have to be less paint-by-numbers and something more than that. Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is about as paint-by-numbers as it gets,” Bolding argues. “Jeremy Allen White is excellent in the role, but the material and the story surrounding the performance is subpar. There’s something interesting to the relationship he has with Faye and her daughter, but that very quickly takes a backseat and then doesn’t really resolve.”
