Godzilla is one of Japan’s most iconic figures. It’s not hard to see why either. The sight of a skyscraper-sized kaiju smashing cities left and right is just so recognizable that it’s hard to find anyone in the world who doesn’t recognize the big dinosaur-like kaiju. It’s also not hard to see why Japan would use it as one of their national mascots. And now, it looks like the King of Monsters will be another icon for Japan at a most iconic location.
Toho Co., Ltd. has announced a partnership with the Tokyo International Air Terminal Corporation to launch the HANEDA GODZILLA GLOBAL PROJECT. What this project will consist of contains many parts. However, the biggest and most noticeable part will be a “colossal” Godzilla monument that will be appear in the Departure Lobby on the third floor of Haneda Airport Terminal 3. When completed, the monument will be about 131 feet wide and 20 feet high, exciting the imaginations of all who visit that particular terminal. Alas, we don’t have any images of it yet, but we do have renders for you to admire below:

In addition, the second floor of the Arrival Lobby will feature two more Godzilla things. One will be a series of graphics above the Information Counter, which you can see in the render below:

And the other will be an actual statue of Godzilla. This one specifically will be the incarnation of the kaiju from Godzilla Minus One, which you can see in the render below:

This entire HANEDA GODZILLA GLOBAL PROJECT will go live sometime between late December 2025 to late December 2026.
HANEDA GODZILLA GLOBAL PROJECT to be Complete in Late December 2025-Late December 2026
Honestly, for Godzilla fans, this entire project will be a real treat once it’s completed. Even if you don’t have the money to take a trip to Haneda Airport yourself to see it in person (which is likely most of us, to be honest), you can at least admire photos of the entire thing once it’s up and running. We shall be most eager for them to make their appearance next year.
What do you all think? Are you eager to see Godzilla at Haneda Airport, whether in photo form or if you will be lucky enough to be able to see it in person? Tell us your kaiju thoughts in the comments section below.
