Jeremy Renner is talking about Clint Barton once again. But this time, fans may have something to celebrate soon because this may be good news for the Avenging Archer and the future of Marvel Television’s Hawkeye.

Since the show debuted on Disney+ during the 2021 holiday season, True Believers have been clamoring for the continuing adventures of Pizza Dog and friends. A few members of the cast have been busy elsewhere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop appeared in the post-credits scene of The Marvels and Florence Pugh made some new friends as Yelena Belova in Thunderbolts*. Meanwhile, on the streaming side of things, Alaqua Cox dove deeper into Maya Lopez’s story in the “Echo” mini-series and Vincent D’Onofrio reprised his role as Wilson Fisk in Daredevil: Born Again.

However, leading man Renner hasn’t picked up a bow and arrow in the MCU since the Phase Four series concluded. In addition to recovering from a nearly fatal snowplow accident, the holdup seemed to be largely financial. The actor told the High Performance podcast that the House of Ideas was only offering him half the money of the first season for twice the work. Although now it looks like he’s singing a different tune.

Quivering With Anticip…

Despite initially claiming that he would not return for another season due to the unsatisfactory salary situation, Renner shared in a recent interview with Empire Magazine that he’s “sure” that Hawkeye season two will happen. Furthermore, he’s getting back into superhero shape.

“I’m happy to do it,” said the MCU vet about returning for another round of the streaming series and beyond. “My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.”

For those concerned about his physical state as he prepares to reprise such a grueling role, the actor is confident in his recovery. “I’m more than 150 percent of what I was prior to the incident,” he proclaimed after the 2023 incident left him with more than 30 broken bones and a collapsed lung. But despite dealing with flexibility and mobility limitations due to tendon issues stemming from his whole ordeal, it sounds like he’s ready to suit up as an Avenger once again.

With nothing officially announced yet, we may have to hold off on ordering a fresh pie for everyone’s favorite pizza-loving dog, Lucky. However, with all hands on deck for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, it’s possible that we may get an update on Bishop and Barton sooner rather than later.

When that happens, be sure to stay tuned to That Hashtag Show for the latest on Hawkeye, the MCU, and all other happenings in the multiverse.
