Could we really see Spider-Man, The Hulk, and The Punisher all fight each other on our movie screens? It might come true in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

A new report from THR is stating some pretty wild things about the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Their report states that Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, and Michael Mando are all appearing in the upcoming Sony/Marvel venture. Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Bernthal will play The Punisher in his first Marvel cinematic appearance since 2008, and Mando will reprise his role as the Scorpion, the villain he first played in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Each of the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies have paired him with a veteran MCU actor like Robert Downey Jr, Samuel L. Jackson, or Benedict Cumberbatch, they all play key mentor roles for Peter Parker, and it looks like Brand New Day will see Bruce Banner in that role.

One interesting wrinkle in their report was about the plot of the film, though. They state:

The plot details are being kept under the vest, but you can bet that, in the mighty Marvel manner, Spider-Man, Punisher and Hulk will all fight one another before figuring out who the real bad guys are.

That’s an incredibly intriguing premise that really evokes comic book imagery, which seems to be something that Marvel Studios is leaning into with their most recent releases Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the feature with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers writing the script. Brand New Day has a release date of July 31, 2026.

We’ve seen Mark Ruffalo appear in recent MCU projects like She-Hulk and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He’s one of the original members of the Avengers, so it’ll be interesting to see how Banner works with Spider-Man… and The Punisher. We haven’t seen The Punisher on-screen since The Punisher: War Zone when he was played by the late Ray Stevenson.

We’ll keep you updated on this story as we get more news.
