Henry Cavill and the upcoming reboot of Highlander from director Chad Stahelski has been a highly anticipated project for a couple of years now. We finally have the first look at what Cavill will look like as Connor MacLeod in the upcoming film. And its safe to say he looks absolutely cool in the role.
Here’s what he had to say in the caption for the image on Instagram.
“This has been quite the journey for me, which I’ll tell you all about when the time is right, but it’s a special moment to be able to share this. I hope you enjoy,”
Production for the film was pushed back into 2026 from 2025, but it looks like they’re finally getting it underway. Highlander stars Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Djimon Hounsou, Dave Bautista, and WWE superstar Drew McIntyre. Here’s what Stahelski had to say about the film.
“We’re bringing it forward from the early 1500s in the Highlands to the beyond present-day New York and Hong Kong, and seeing how it goes. There’s big opportunity for action. There’s a chance to play a character that not a lot of people get to play. And it’s a bit of a love story, but not how you think. On John Wick, I learned a lot on how to bend the storytelling a little.”
There’s no release date for Highlander yet, but we’ll keep you updated on how it develops.
