Stephen King’s The Long Walk made a chilling impact at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, delivering one of Hall H’s most unforgettable panels. With an all-star cast including David Jonsson, Tut Nyuot, Garrett Wareing, and Mark Hamill, the panel drew gasps, cheers, and stunned silence. Kicking off with a surprise video message from King himself. Then the event escalated quickly as the debut trailer dropped, followed by an appearance from the cast and creatives. Then, fans got an intense first look at the film. It was so harrowing that portions had to be blacked out.
THE LONG WALK
Stephen King’s The Long Walk—starring David Jonsson, Tut Nyuot, Garrett Wareing, and Mark Hamill—shook Hall H at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con®! Producer Roy Lee and screenwriter JT Mollner joined the cast for an electrifying panel, moderated by Eric Vespe and Anthony Breznican, hosts of the Stephen King podcast, The Kingcast.
To start the panel, the crowd was greeted with a pre-recorded message from author Stephen King introducing the debut of the film’s new trailer!
Following the in-room trailer debut, the moderators introduced the cast on stage with Mark Hamill opening his jacket to the crowd showing off his “Based on the novel by Richard Bachman” shirt, paying homage to the pseudonym King used to write The Long Walk, his first written novel.
The panelists discussed their experiences from meeting Stephen King, preserving the shock of Mark Hamill’s chilling performance as The Major, the grueling challenges of walking dozens of miles a day and the camaraderie developed amongst the cast through this once-in-a-lifetime moviemaking experience.
To close out the eventful panel, a special message from Director Francis Lawrence and star Ben Wang played in-room introducing an exclusive viewing of the first 22 minutes of the film – the moment was interrupted with a disclaimer that parts of the footage would be blacked out after being deemed too intense for Hall H – before rolling.
Audiences were left with one question: How far could you go?
