The Running Man has officially taken over New York Comic-Con 2025. Paramount Pictures has released a new poster and promised a new trailer on Monday for the upcoming film.

In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television—a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward. Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort. But Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite—and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters, but a nation addicted to watching him fall.
The Running Man stars Glen Powell, William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson with Colman Domingo and Josh Brolin. It was written by Michael Bacall and Edgar Wright. Edgar Wright also directed the film.
The original book, The Running Man, was published in 1982 by Stephen King under the pseudonym Richard Bachmann. It was set in 2025 and told a story of America under a totalitarian regime that uses violent game shows to keep the masses busy. The novel focused on one man who was desperate for money for his sick daughter, so he goes on the most popular show, The Running Man. It’s a brutal and violent show where a team of killers go after contestants. Think American Gladiators, but the people getting smacked by athletes are actually dying. Powell is playing the desperate man and hero in this new adaptation.
The Running Man releases in theaters on November 14th, 2025.
