The now Halloween classic “Trick ‘R Treat” is headed back to theaters after being recently restored in 4K through Fathom Entertainment. On October 14 and 16, die-hard fans and curious newcomers will have the chance to relive the frights, laughs, and twisted traditions of the cult favorite. Audiences will also be treated to bonus content straight from writer and director Michael Dougherty.

Part of the fun will include a special featurette where Dougherty revisits some of the Halloween memories that inspired the film and the Trick ‘R Treat’s feature character, Sam. Speaking of Sam, before the start of the film, audiences will also get to see his very first appearance and the started it all with the 4K restoration of Dougherty’s 1996 animated short, “Season’s Greetings”. Since its release, the Legendary Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures  and Saga Arts feature film continues to be added into people’s Halloween tradition. “Trick ‘R Treat” is a part horror anthology, and part cautionary tale. Sam has grown to become one of the top-selling Halloween icons nationwide. Even having haunts at Six Flags during Fright Fest. Some may even argue that he is becoming the unofficial mascot of Halloween across the nation.
