Influencers is the highly anticipated sequel to Shudder’s breakout hit Influencer. If you loved the first film’s unsettling vibe, Influencers sharpens it with even more emotional stakes, stylish suspense, and social commentary that feels eerily relevant.

The story picks up after the chilling events of the first film. CW has somehow managed to get off the island and is trying to build a new life (identity) for herself. She is now traveling with her girlfriend Diane and is determined to keep a low profile and maintain the illusion of normalcy. So, the couple heads to southern France to celebrate their anniversary at a quiet countryside hotel, hoping for privacy, reconnection, and a fresh start.

WHERE DOES INFLUENCERS GO FROM HERE?

However, their plans quickly fall apart when they encounter Charlotte, a loud, entitled, and relentlessly self-promoting British influencer. And as we all know, that combination is exactly what pushes CW’s instincts to the surface in the worst possible ways.

Madison (Emily Tennant) returns for the sequel. She is facing a world that doubts her story and even questions whether CW is real. Now, she is determined to expose the truth, proving that her attacker is not just a phantom of fear, but a dangerous murderer.

Cassandra Naud is once again outstanding. Her performance as CW walks the perfect line between vulnerability and menace, making her both terrifying and strangely sympathetic. Her reunion with Tennant adds a compelling new dimension. The two characters are in a continuing cat-and-mouse, ever-evolving relationship that is charged with rivalry, tension, and the echoes of past trauma. 

Thematically, Influencers expands on its predecessor’s ideas about authenticity, parasocial relationships, the cost of fame, and the curated performances people put online. While less twist-heavy than the first film, this sequel offers a more mature narrative. One that leans into character psychology and moral ambiguity.

Influencers is set to stream exclusively on Shudder on December 12, 2025!
